Table tennis is expected to take a prominent place in local sports with the handing over of twenty tennis boards along with rackets and balls to the Government of Anguilla. The sporting equipment was made available by the National Bank of Anguilla at a cost of over sixteen thousand Eastern Caribbean dollars. It was shipped to the island free of cost by Tropical Shipping, represented by Sheila Haskins.

On July 10, the 11th Annual Anguilla Tennis Academy Summer Camp started with over 120 participants eager to play. The program began at 8 am at the James Ronald Webster Park where the creation of the ATA’s summer camp began. In 1996, Mitchelle Lake and Sean Romney began doing a camp for the children of Anguilla while they were enrolled at Gardner-Webb University in the North Carolina. |
