Report On The Primary Schools Road Race

The Annual Primary Schools Road Race, sponsored by Tropical Shipping, took place on Friday March 23rd in The Valley. The Race was run in two categories: juniors (under ten years) a distance of one and a half miles; and seniors (ten years and over), a distance of three miles. The results were as follows:

The Valley Primary School’s Delanda Mussington took first place in the junior girls category, with Veronique Rogers of the Morris Vanterpool Primary second and Janique Fleming of Stoney Ground Primary third.
In the junior boys category Giovanni Heyliger and Aaron Gumbs of the Valley Primary School led the way to the finish with Kennedy Gumbs of the Stoney Ground Primary coming in third.

Jonicia Richardson of the Stoney Ground Primary School placed first, bettering her previous record set last year, this in the senior girls section. Second was Julesha Connor of the Valley Primary while Travonna Alonzo of the Road Primary placed third.
Jadel Carty edged out his schoolmate, Alrique Connor of the Road Primary School, both finishing in record time, to take first and second place in the senior section on the road race. Third was the Alwyn Alison’s Primary Javard Clarke.

The Tropical Shipping Primary Schools Road Race was the prelude to the Primary schools Sports Day which will be held on Thursday March 29th on the Ronald Webster Park.
Tropical Shipping also sponsors the Primary schools Sports Day through their local agent Haskins Ltd.
