Windward Islands Airways Intl NV better known as Winair has launched its scheduled flights into Antigua as of June 1st, 2005. Flights will operate daily except on Mondays. Flights will depart St. Maarten at 2.40PM and arrive Antigua at 3.30PM. The return flight from Antigua will depart at 3.55PM and arrive St. Maarten at 4.45PM.

Winair will start a double daily flight on July 11, 2005 when it launches it Montserrat flight. The afternoon flight has been strategically schedule in order to accommodate all connecting passengers from British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and BWIA and any other mayor carrier that uses the Antigua gateway. Passenger will now be able to use Winair from Antigua and connect to all Winair markets such as Saba / St. Eustatuis / St. Barths / Anguilla / Nevis / St. Kitts and Tortola with the same day. With this new service Winair hopes to increase the airlift connectivity to the neighboring Islands, which are not presently served fully out of the Antigua Gateway.
In December 2005 Winair will launch a 3rd flight, which will operate on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and will depart St. Maarten at 7.20PM and arrive Antigua at 8.10PM. The return flight will depart Antigua at 8.35Pm and arrive St. Maarten at 9.25PM.
The evening flight will give passengers the opportunity to spend more time in Antigua with the departure at 8.35PM as presently the last flight out of Antigua to St. Maarten departs at 4.55PM.
Winair at ITB Berlin which was held from March 11-15, 2005 in Berlin Germany has met with several tourism authorities of the British Virgin islands, Anguilla, St. Barths and Nevis to discuss and promote this new. Several tour operators were informed of this new service and were pleased it.
