Founded and maintained by Colville Petty, OBE, an authority on Anguilla’s history, it is a microcosm of the different facets of life of the Anguillian people and provides a stimulating insight into the Anguilla of old through an impressive array of archaeological and historical artefacts.

Heritage Collection is a journey through time which starts with a display on the rich culture of the Arawak Indians and continues with the island’s settlement, in 1650, by the English who introduced sugar and slaves.

Late nineteenth and early twentieth century life in Anguilla is also given prominence. The several household implements of that era provide an appreciation of its people’s innovativeness, while the display on the fishing, boat building and salt industries speaks to the kind of economic activities in which they were engaged.

The journey through time climaxes with an impressive presentation on the 1967 Revolutionary Era, a turning point in the history of Anguillian people.

Heritage Collection is a great attraction to students, researchers and visitors in search of a better understanding of Anguillian people and their culture.
