Marjorie Morani

Color: strong, bright, clean, vibrant color best describe the canvas of Marge Morani

Painters tend to paint what they see around them and Marge is no exception. Her unusual style of depicting Caribbean life is achieved by the almost exclusive use of the palette knife and the skillful manipulation of color and form. Working with oil pigments over the entire surface, the painting gradually emerges creating a tension that captivates the viewer. Inspiration comes from real life, photographic reference and the imagination.

Not one to be tied to any particular medium, Marge also creates works in pastel and watercolor and clay

Many themes of her paintings can be seen on her hand thrown pottery and tiles.
Her works are in private collections on Anguilla, in the US and Europe.

In the late nineties she designed a Christmas card for the “Grant A Wish Foundation” and currently is working on the 14 Stations of the Cross for St. Andrews Anglican Church in Island Harbour, Anguilla.
Marge has a degree in Studio Art and Art History. She studied for three years with Colorist Sam Feinstein.
