Scotiabank Holds 4th Kiddies Cricket Competition


Scotiabank Anguilla Limited has expressed its thanks and appreciation to all the schools on the island which participated in the 4th Annual Kiddy Cricket Competition and says it is looking forward to doing better with the assistance of various associations.

Four teams took part in the 2006 finals held at the Ronald Webster Park at the beginning of the month. Morris Vanterpool and Road School participated in a thrilling match entertaining fans with big shots to the boundary. Both teams kept up a good fight but Morris Vanterpool was victorious in keeping its rival from scoring the required 66 runs to win.

Valley and Stoney Ground Schools competed for the first place trophy as many spectators and supporters cheered them on. Despite some good strokes, but not big enough to reach the boundary, Stoney Ground was unable to make the runs to win thus Valley School emerged winner.

“The Webster Park was the perfect venue for such an event and Scotiabank wishes to thank Alkins Rogers and the Cricket Association for the use of the park,” a statement from the bank said. “The fans were comfortable and the kids had a wonderful time. Special thanks also to John Martin, who continually supports the cause of Kiddy Cricket.”
