Windball Cricket Matches Exciting Pasttime


The upcoming Anguilla Windball Cricket Tournament, due to commence on Sunday, October 8, will be an exciting pastime for fans around the island.

The commencement of the tournament was preceded by the Clarence Fleming-Rogers Knockout Competition which was held at the Ronald Webster Park on Sunday, October 1.

Two of the four female teams, Razor Massive and Force 2 Reckon With, tied in the final match.

In the Men’s division, for the fourth consecutive year, the Farrington Blue Jays won the Knockout Championship, by defeating Deadly Force, a well-respected competing team.

There are eight male and four female teams. The eight are Point United of Blowing Point; Combined Force, comprising nationals of various Caribbean islands, Razor Massive of Island Harbour, The Fungis of Stoney Ground; Easy Eagles of East End; Top Hill Burners of North Hill, South Hill and Sandy Ground, Blue Jays of Farrington and Rebel Squad.

The female teams are Razor Massive, Point United, Force 2 Reckon With and Boo’s Running Rebels.

Lisa Webster, Captain of Razor Massive and President of the Anguilla Windball Cricket Association, said she was looking forward to a promising tournament despite them being one team short. She added that this season there might be some touring matches in Dominica and possibly in other islands.
