Ashley's Road Relay Well Supported |

Long lines of sport lovers converged on the area in front Ashley & Sons Supermarket on Sunday, March 4, for the company’s 12th annual sponsored Road Relay involving competing students from the Primary Schools and the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School.

In the primary schools relay race for girls, the results were: Valley Primary first; Stoney Ground, second; Road, third; Morris Vanterpool fourth; Central Baptist, fifth; Alwyn Alison, sixth; and Island Harbour, seventh.

In the relay for boys, the results were: Road Primary, first; Valley, second; Stoney Ground, third; Morris Vanterpool, fourth; Central Baptist, fifth; Island Harbour, sixth; and Alwyn Alison, seventh.

The results in the primary school cycling race for girls were: Road Primary, first; Stoney Ground, second; Valley, third; Morris Vanterpool, fourth; Island Harbour, fifth; Central Baptist, sixth; and Alwyn Alison, seventh.
In the cycling race for boys, the results were: Road Primary, first; Stoney Ground, second; Island Harbour, third; Morris Vanterpool, fourth; Alwyn Alison, fifth; Central Baptist, sixth; and Valley, seventh.

The inter-house results of the Comprehensive School relays for girls were as follows: first, Maroon House; second, Orange; third, Yellow; fourth, Pink (did not finish); fifth, Purple House (did not start).
The results for the boys were: first, Purple House; second, Pink; third, Orange; fourth, Yellow; and fifth, Maroon House.

All members of teams who placed first received trophies; second and third places got medals; and all participating athletes were recipients of T-shirts.
The road relay activities were well supported by members of the public and there was a large participation by the young athletes.
