TROPHIES AWARED FOR VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE


The recently-concluded Volleyball Business League has been marked with the award of trophies to the winning teams.

The event, from June 15 to July 15, was open to volleyball players from all business establishments in Anguilla, but only a small number participated in the competitive matches.

The participating teams represented construction workers, the Anguilla Electricity Company (ANGLEC) and teachers.

In the knockout finals, ANGLEC emerged winner of the knockout championship.

A short ceremony was held at the Anguilla Development Board on Tuesday, sponsor of the volleyball league. Those who spoke at the function were the Director of the Board, Althea Hodge, Heather Williams, Vice President of the Anguilla Volleyball Association, Justus Connor, Treasurer, Alkins Rogers, Sports Director and Kenn Banks, President of the Anguilla Amateur Athletic Association.

The speakers emphasised the importance of developing volleyball on the island and were pleased with the participation of the teams in the business league.
